Traveling Vietnam Wall coming to Myrtle Beach in May. Here’s where and when you can see it
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will make a stop in Myrtle Beach in May.
The wall will be at the Field at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium, 1004 Crabtree Lane, in Market Common from May 25 through 28, according to the City of Myrtle Beach.
The wall, provided by the Vietnam and All Veterans of Brevard located in Florida, is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC. It stands six feet tall and features the names of those who were killed during the Vietnam War.
An opening ceremony will be at 1 p.m. May 26. A Remembrance Ceremony will be at 2 p.m. May 27, followed by a closing ceremony 1 p.m. May 28. The wall will be open to the public 24 hours and is free.
The wall’s visit is part of the city’s Military Appreciation Days.
The Vet Center will provide on-site support services during the visit.
In addition, the Military Appreciation Committee is looking for volunteers, including help with guarding the wall and setting up and taking down the display.
