Don’t forget the essentials. What to bring to Myrtle Beach-area beaches for spring break 2023

Pack up your family for your first Grand Strand beach day of 2023, and don’t forget what to bring.

You probably remember a time when you forgot your sunscreen or water and had to make an expensive, last-minute stop or struggled through an afternoon without. Or maybe, you wished you brought a speaker to play your favorite beach-y playlist.

Whether you’re visiting Pawleys Island, Surfside Beach, Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach, you’ll be prepared for a spring break vacation with this checklist.

Here’s a packing list of items your family will need for a day on the Myrtle Beach-area sands.

  • Sun protection like sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and coverup

  • Bug spray

  • Blanket and towel

  • Beach chair and umbrella (only circular umbrellas up to 7.5 feet in diameter)

  • Snacks and water

  • Portable phone batteries and waterproof pouches

  • Radio or bluetooth speaker.

  • A book or magazine

  • Activities like beach toys, volleyball and Frisbee
