53-year-old man dies after being hit while crossing highway in Myrtle Beach area
An Horry County man died Saturday after he was hit by a vehicle as he attempted to cross Highway 707, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Gabriel Carrillo Palma, 53, died at the scene of the crash near Weeks Drive at about 8:20 p.m., said Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Lanes of traffic were blocked due to the crash, and drivers were encouraged to avoid that area, according to a Facebook post from Horry County Fire Rescue.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
