A small, family owned surf and skate shop from Surfside Beach has relocated to the Myrtle Beach downtown area.

Good Vibes Surf and Skate shop is now located at 605 Broadway St., right next to The Tavrne. A re-opening celebration will be held Feb. 28, from 4-7 p.m.

The skate shop, which opened in 2021, “outgrew the footprint,” a release from the Myrtle Beach area Chamber of Commerce states.

“The new location in Myrtle Beach allows the shop to not only expand its products and services, but be part of the exciting revitalization of downtown,” the release says.

The 2,800-square-foot shop houses an extensive selection of surfboards, skateboards, apparel and gear. It also has a shaping bay and ding repair shop.

Local artist Jason Denton painted a wall mural for the new exterior of the building, contributing to the revitalization of downtown Myrtle Beach, according to the chamber.

The rear of the store is also home to the Surf Dreams Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that introduces children to surfing, providing them with gear, skate days and “Take-a-Kid Surfing” days, the release says.

Kosta Bowls and Surf Dawgs will be present at the re-opening ceremony along with the Chamber of Commerce.
