A bicyclist dies after she was hit in a Myrtle Beach neighborhood
A woman died earlier this month after she was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike in Myrtle Beach, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Gail Rapp was riding in Market Common on Jan. 2 when she was hit, said Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Rapp had been on her bike on Coventry crossing over Thornbury when the vehicle turned left and hit her, according to Myrtle Beach Police Department spokesman Tom Vest.
He said the driver failed to yield to right of way and received a ticket. Police believe the driver was distracted, Vest added.
She died from her injuries at a local hospital the following day, Willard said.
Police are investigating.
