One dead, and two others were injured in 2 car crash on SC 917 near Nichols

One person has died and two more are injured in a two car crash that occurred near Nichols Wednesday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Horry County Fire Rescue were called to the crash at SC 917 and Hwy 19 around 5:46 p.m.

The crash occurred when a 2007 Honda Sudan was traveling north on SC 917 and attempted to take a left turn onto Hwy 19, crashing into a 2015 Chevrolet SUV that was traveling south, South Carolina trooper Nick Pye said.

One passenger in the SUV sustained fatal injuries, and another was taken to the hospital. The driver and a third passenger were uninjured.

The driver of the 2007 Honda Sudan was taken to the hospital.

The identity of the victim is not known at this time.

South Carolina Highway Patrol, the investigating agency, is asking anyone with information on the deceased to contact Horry County Coroner’s Office.
