20-year-old woman dead after crash involving a commercial truck in Horry County

A 20-year-old lost her life after a crash Monday in Horry County, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Bethany Todd, of Loris, died at a hospital after the two vehicle collision on Secondary 66, Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden said.

A GMC Yukon and a commercial truck were traveling eastbound on when the GMC ran into the back of the truck, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal David Jones.

The wreck happened near Highway 905 at 10:55 a.m.

Todd was in the GMC, but it is not clear if she was the driver or front seat passenger.

Jones previously said the driver of the GMC was taken to the hospital, but the passenger had been reported dead at the scene of the crash.

The truck driver was not injured.
