Pedestrian dead after being hit on a highway near Conway
A woman has died after she was hit by vehicle as she walked down a highway Sunday near Conway, according to Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Dorsha Sherman, 30, died from traumatic injuries, said Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard. She died at the scene.
Sherman, of Conway, was walking along U.S. 501 at Carolina Road around 1:20 a.m., Willard added.
Sherman had been traveling north on the highway and was hit by a pickup truck going in the same direction, South Carolina Highway Trooper Brandon Bolt said.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, according to Bolt.
