Beaches along the Grand Strand sees millions of visitors every year, including unusual animals.

Facebook user Lisa Hedrick shared two photos Friday of what appears to be a coyote at the beach in Pawleys Island.

Hedrick’s post followed a similar post on Facebook, where a user shared a video earlier this week of a deer playing in the waves in Myrtle Beach.

It is not clear why the animal made its way to the beach, but some people speculated online that it could be due to development.

In May, a nearly 5-foot alligator was seen “body surfing” in North Myrtle Beach.

Back in December 2018, a harbor seal made multiple appearances along the Myrtle Beach shoreline.
