Video: Deer plays in waves in north Myrtle Beach Tuesday

A deer was caught in the surf in Myrtle Beach, according to a video posted online Tuesday.

Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski shared a video to his Facebook page that shows the deer playing in the waves.

In the post, he said the video was taken north of the hotels in The Golden Mile.

“The deer eventually left the water and went over the dunes at the Dunes Club,” the post states. “Anyone have an idea of why a deer would be in the ocean?

The deer is one of many unusual animal sightings that have happened along the Grand Strand.

A nearly five-foot alligator was seen “body surfing” in North Myrtle Beach in May.

In December 2018, a harbor seal made multiple appearances along the Myrtle Beach shoreline delighting Christmas vacationers.
