Carolina Forest residents are getting a new grocery store soon. Here’s what’s coming

Residents in the Carolina Forest area will be able to get their groceries at a new store later this fall.

The Publix supermarket located at 136 Sapwood Road will open on Nov. 2, according to a press release. The store is attached to a 46-acre mixed-use development that has been under construction since the summer of 2021.

Here’s a list of businesses coming to the shopping center:

  • Firehouse Subs
  • Heartland Dental
  • Fortune Asian Bistro
  • Great Clips
  • Grand Nails
  • Sweet Berry
  • Fullbelly BBQ
  • European Wax Center

Alongside the supermarket and retail stores, an apartment complex is being developed on-site.

Hawthorne at the Mill will have 290 one, two and three-bedroom units.

Carolina Forest has been the subject of several large developments, including a 171.77-acre rezoning request for the River Oaks Golf Course.

The immediate area around the shopping center has been developed with numerous residential and retail spaces, including a Food Lion and a Lowes nearby.
