Boat ramp reopens after car was driven into Waccamaw River, officials say
A boat ramp near Murrells Inlet that was closed due to a vehicle being driven down it and into the Waccamaw River has reopened, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office closed the ramp at the Wacca Wache Marina after the 3 a.m. incident for safety concerns.
Occupants of the vehicle were able to escape and make it to land, a Saturday news release said.
The vehicle has been removed from the river.
