B&B Theatres Conway 12 will be closing it’s doors after this weekend for renovations.

The renovations could take up to 10 weeks, hopefully before the release of “Wakanda Forever: Black Panther” in early November, according to B&B’s spokesperson Paul Farnsworth.

The company announced the remodeling on Wednesday to the public in a Facebook post, stating that Sunday will be the last day for movie showings.

Some renovations to the theater near Highway 501 Walmart include a full revamp of the lobby, heated electric reclining chairs throughout the building, and new projection in a large format 50-foot grand screen.

The renovations will include a full-service bar where patrons over 21 can purchase beer, wine and cocktails to enjoy responsibly.

“It’s such a great feeling to have this underway,” Farnsworth said. “It’s a beautiful facility with an incredible management team and this remodel will really help it realize potential and remind guests that the big screen is the best way to enjoy the magic of the movies.”

Kandy Larrimore, a lifelong Conway resident, said she was excited about the renovations.

“Looking forward to a fresh look and smell,” Larrimore, 56, said. “Looking forward to the reclining seats as well. It’s my favorite little getaway for some me-time.”

The Sun News reported in 2020 that Conway City Council voted to reimburse B&B for fees and utility as an incentive for the renovations. B&B, headquartered in Missouri, replaced Frank’s Theater after it closed its doors in 2019.

Until then, you can still go to the theater to watch screenings before it closes. “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Where the Crawdads Sing” are two movies that will be playing in the theater this weekend.
