Beloved doughnut shop in Market Common closed last month. New options are on the way
A new restaurant in the Market Common area is replacing the Peace, Love, and Little Donuts shop, and will open in early October.
Don’t worry, the doughnuts are here to stay.
Seawitch Cafe, owned by Myrtle Beach resident Tina Littleton, will sell similar craft doughnut options due to the older restaurant’s customer base in the area. While the doughnuts won’t be made to order, they will be included in a “grab and go” breakfast option.
Peace, Love and Little Donuts closed on August 21 after the unexpected passing of the owner in June.
“Peace, Love and Little Donuts is saddened by the passing of Clayton Matthews, the owner of our Myrtle Beach location. Clayton brought a unique zest for life that will be missed by his family, friends, customers and fans,” the company wrote in a Facebook post.
Littleton said many people have come to the door asking about the doughnuts.
“We’re like, we’ll have doughnuts. You’re just going to have to wait,” Littleton said.
Seawitch Cafe, located at 3020 Nevers Street, will have many breakfast options for its grab-and-go service, including mini omelets, baked potatoes, and avocado toast. Two new dining rooms are being added to accommodate dine-in service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The restaurant will also have a breakfast buffet on the weekends with an omelet station.
“It’ll be like, one of the only places in town that actually have an omelet station where they make the omelets made to order,” Littleton said.
While a tentative start state is October 5, much of the interior and decorating work needs to be done. The restaurant will have a mermaid and ocean theme because Littleton loves mermaids.
“My car’s license plate, it’s got mermaids on it,” Littleton said. “I’ve always been the mermaid lady.”
