Horry County driver deceased after veering off road and hitting a ditch, utility pole

The driver of a 2005 Mercedes was killed when the driver veered off the road and struck a ditch and utility pole in Horry County yesterday morning, according to Master Trooper Brian T. Lee of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday in Longs near Collins Circle on Pint Circle. The Mercedes was traveling east when it veered off the road, Lee said.

The identity of the driver will be released once the coroner has notified next of kin.
