One person found dead in Longs area, police are investigating

Just after midnight this morning, one person was found deceased in the Longs area of Horry County.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris G. Fowler said the person died on the scene from gunshot wounds. The individual’s identity will be released after the family or next of kin is notified.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Medical University of South Carolina later in the week.

The Horry County Police Department is the investigating agency.
