Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is running again after closing for a second time this week
The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is up and running again as of noon today, according to Sean Bailey, a SkyWheel marketing manager.
The Ferris wheel got stuck mid-ride on Sunday, leaving six passengers on board. Bailey said the passengers were safe, as they were in communication with fire department and SkyWheel officials the whole time, while sitting in air-conditioned gondolas.
After the popular tourist attraction opened back up on Monday afternoon, it had to close again, as the ride got stuck, but no passengers were on the ride at that time, according to a Facebook post from SkyWheel.
“During SkyWheel’s Tuesday morning safety checks, the maintenance crew encountered the same technical issue that occurred on Sunday evening,” the post read.
Now that the SkyWheel is said to be safe to ride once again, Myrtle Beachers can get on board and see a spectacular view of the ocean and the city.
