A 75-year-old woman died following an ocean rescue and CPR attempts by lifeguards along a stretch of North Myrtle Beach shoreline, city officials said Thursday morning.

The victim’s name and cause of death was not immediately available. City spokesman Donald Graham said ocean rescue crews responded to an area at 15th Avenue N. and Ocean Blvd. around 6:10 p.m. on Aug. 17.
