One hurt after car strikes gas line near Thee Dollhouse gentleman’s club in Atlantic Beach

An Atlantic Beach adult entertainment club was closed briefly on Thursday morning after a vehicle struck the building and ruptured a gas line, while a person was transported to an area hospital.

Horry County Fire Rescue said on its Facebook page it happened around 3:37 a.m. in the 3100 block of U.S. Highway 17 South.

Authorities didn’t identify the building that was struck, but according to WECT News 6, an employee at Thee Dollhouse said an intoxicated driver backed into the building and hit the line.

After ventilating and monitoring the building, it reopened about an hour after the incident.

WECT reported 35-year-old David Zelaya of Little River was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Horry County Fire Rescue said on its Facebook page one person was injured, but further details weren’t immediately available.
