The driver of a 2011 Ford Ranger that hit a tree last night on SC-111 near Cemetery Road in Little River is deceased, according to Master Trooper Brian T. Lee of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said the driver was 51-year-old Jason Stocks who lived in the area.

Lee said that Stocks was traveling south when his car veered off the road and he “over corrected,” causing the car to crash into a tree on the left side of the road.
