Power outage reported in northern Horry County, thunderstorms expected tonight
More than 800 Horry Electric Cooperative members were without power for a couple hours Friday afternoon, according to the company’s outage site.
The outage was reported at 2:39 p.m. Friday and power was restored by 4 p.m., according to Horry Electric’s outage site. It had impacted 831 members living along S.C. 9 and S.C. 905 in the Longs and Little Town communities.
Forecasters with the National Weather Sevice in Wilmington, N.C., were tracking a line of thunderstorms moving through the area Friday afternoon.
The change of rain was 60 percent throughout the night and up to a half inch of rain was expected from the storms, forecasters said.
