A single-car collision that happened on Friday left one person dead, according to a report from Lance Corporal Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The car, a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, was traveling north on US-17A when it veered off the road to the right and overturned, the report says. Only the diver was in the car at the time.

The incident occurred “around eight miles south of Andrews,” Tidwell said.

The Georgetown County Coroner’s office has yet to release the name of the deceased nor the exact cause of death.
