Columbia motorcyclist dies in crash in Myrtle Beach
One person died in a motorcycle crash Saturday, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Veto Williams, 47, of Columbia, died from his injuries, Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden said.
The crash happened at 71st Avenue North and Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach after 3 a.m., McSpadden said. The coroner’s office didn’t provide information about what caused the crash, whether any other vehicles were involved, whether anyone else was injured or whether Williams was wearing a helmet.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating.
The crash came as tens of thousands of bikers gather in the Grand Strand for the 42nd Black Pearl Cultural Heritage and Bike Festival, also known as Atlantic Beach Bikefest or Black Bike Week. No information was immediately available about whether Williams was participating in Bikefest.
