Person struck and killed by vehicle while crossing U.S. 17 Business

A pedestrian was hit by a 2008 Volvo SUV traveling North on U.S. 17 Business on Sunday.

The pedestrian later died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained during Sunday’s collision, said Lance Corporal Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred South of Murrells Inlet near Tadlock Drive which is close to the Inlet Square Mall.

The driver did not sustain any injuries, according to Tidwell.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the deceased or any details on exactly what kind of injuries resulted in the pedestrian’s death.
