Coroner identifies man killed in Conway crash
A coroner has identified the man killed in two-vehicle crash that also left three people injured Monday.
Jeremy Combs, 41, died from multiple injuries on the scene, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The crash happened on U.S. 701 near Copperhead Road in the Conway area around 8:40 p.m., South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler Tidwell said.
The driver of a Toyota Highlander was driving south on the highway, while Combs, who drove a Nissan Sentra, was traveling north when they crashed, Tidwell said. Combs hit the Toyota straight on, while attempting to pass another vehicle, he added.
Combs was the only person in the car.
The three people in the Toyota were taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The highway patrol is investigating.
