A helicopter crash-landed in Myrtle Beach Saturday. What to know
A helicopter that crashed in Myrtle Beach was set to land on a helipad before crash landing and rolling into bushes on Saturday, a federal report found.
The pilot attempted to land the Robinson aircraft but instead came down in a parking lot and ended up in the bushes, according to a preliminary report from the Federal Aviation Administration.
Four people were on the flight. No one was seriously injured, according to the Myrtle Beach Fire Department.
The department responded to the crash in the AVX parking lot off 17th Avenue South.
The report listed Executive Helicopters, Inc. as the owner of the copter, a tour company based in North Myrtle Beach.
The company provides up to seven different tours and have been serving the Myrtle Beach area for over a decade, according to the its website. Riders can fly in one of three Robinson R44 helicopters, it states.
When contacted by The Sun News Tuesday, a person who answered the phone at Executive Helicopters hung up when asked to comment on the crash.
