The Myrtle Beach Marathon returns this weekend. Here’s what roads to avoid

An annual marathon is returning to Myrtle Beach this weekend, causing some congestion in parts of the downtown area.

The Myrtle Beach Marathon will be held Saturday. The 26.2-mile race starts at 7 a.m.

City officials said drivers should expect heavy traffic and delays from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Kings Highway, Ocean Boulevard, Farrow Parkway and Grissom Parkway.

Drivers should use Highway 17 Bypass to travel north and south, officials said.

This marks the 25th year for the marathon.
