One pedestrian died after car crash near North Myrtle Beach, officials say

A fatal crash in Horry County left a pedestrian dead Saturday morning, highway officials said.

The driver of a Honda Civic was traveling west on Highway 90 near Water Tower Road when they hit the pedestrian, who was traveling east around 4:45 a.m. according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal Tyler Tidwell.

The driver was not injured.

The coroner will release the name of the deceased at a later time.

The highway agency is investigating.
