1 person killed after being partially ejected in Conway-area car wreck
One person was killed in a car wreck in the Conway area, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 11 a.m. Friday, Master Trooper Brian Lee said in a news release.
The wreck happened on U.S. Highway 701 near Privette Road, Lee said. A 2002 Mercedes attempted to pass a 2020 Nissan while both cars were headed south on Highway 701.
While attempting to pass, the Mercedes hit the back of the Nissan, Lee said. The Mercedes ran off the road and the driver was partially ejected.
The driver of the Mercedes died, Lee said. The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the car wreck victim.
