The cause of a more than four-acre brush fire near the Carolina Forest library that ignited Friday evening had not been determined by Saturday morning, Brian VanAernem, spokesman with Horry County Fire and Rescue, said.
Horry County firefighters were called out to the blaze about 6:30 p.m. off Carolina Forest Boulevard. Rescue workers were on the scene several hours, but the fire was quickly brought under control, VanAernem said.
The fire was not close to any homes and no damage or injuries were reported in connection with the blaze.
Authorities with the S.C. Forest Commission are assisting HCFR with the investigation and clean up.
