‘It was my lucky day’: $50k lottery ticket sold at Myrtle Beach area Food Lion

He had to check his ticket at least 10 times to make sure, but the matching numbers confirmed it: he had won $50,000 on a lottery ticket.

A Grand Strand man won $50,000 after buying a lottery ticket at a Garden City area Food Lion last month, according to a news release from the S.C. Education Lottery.

“It was my lucky day,” he said.

His ticket matched four of the first five numbers, plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing. The odds of winning $50,000 in the Powerball lottery are roughly 1 in 913,129, the release said.

The winning numbers were 4 - 13 - 18 - 61 - 63 and Powerball: 17.

The Food Lion grocery store that sold the winning ticket received $500 in commission.

“I’m taking a vacation,” the winner said.
