Motorcyclist killed in weekend Surfside Beach crash, S.C. Highway Patrol says
One person was killed in a motorcycle crash in Surfside Beach over the weekend, officials said.
The crash happened when the driver of a 2021 Subaru SUV turned left from Maryport Drive onto S.C. Highway 544, according to Lance Cpl. Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
About 6:30 p.m. Sunday, the Subaru collided with a westbound 1999 Honda motorcycle, Pye said.
The driver and passenger of the Subaru were not injured. The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries, he said.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the name of the victim.
