Myrtle Beach office building fire on Robert Grissom Parkway started in attic, reports say
Firefighters from Myrtle Beach and Horry County responded to 48th Avenue North and Robert Grissom Parkway Tuesday night for a three-alarm fire at a row of businesses.
Capt. Jonathan Evans of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department said at about 10:15 p.m. firefighters had begun evacuating the building because of unsafe roof conditions and were shifting their efforts to defensive maneuvers. No injuries have been reported, he said.
He told WPDE that “the fire got into the attic, which is why we’re having trouble getting to it, it’s not just sitting in the office building. So, right now they’re trying to make sure they get a stop on it before it travels to the rest of the building and hopefully get this fire under control very quickly.”
Businesses near the fire included Elan Day Spa and Atlantic Spine, according to videos of the fire posted on social media.
