Windsor Green fire victim dies at Augusta Burn Center, coroner reports

One person has died from complications and injuries from Friday’s fire at the Windsor Green apartments.

Faye Yarborough, 68, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday at the Augusta Burn Center, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities reported Friday that a person was “seriously” injured in the fire Friday afternoon.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the complex around 12:45 p.m. for the blaze. The fire was contained to one unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Conway Fire Department, Myrtle Beach Fire and Horry County police also responded to the scene.

Windsor Green is home to other high-profile fires in recent history. In 2013, several buildings were destroyed in a massive fire at the complex. In 2018, another large scale fire tore through the neighborhood.
