Two people died after a vehicle hit a tree in the Loris area, officials say.

On Saturday morning, first responders went to Highway 66 and Highway 915 for the vehicle crash. A Chevrolet Camaro disregarded a stop sign, went off the road and hit a tree, South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brian Lee said.

The driver died at the scene. A passenger went to the hospital, where they later died, Lee said.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Tanasha L. Farris, 31, of Loris, and the passenger as Keith Cox, 29, of Loris. Neither victim wore a seatbelt, Lee said.
