A Myrtle Beach lawyer who has a history of indecent exposure and voyeurism has been disbarred by the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Jacob Leon Parrott was most recently suspended from practicing law after he was arrested for taking pictures up a woman’s skirt at a grocery store in 2017. He was arrested again in 2018 for public masturbation near a public pool on North Ocean Boulevard.

Parrot was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison for indecent exposure in 2019 and is currently serving probation.

He did not respond to requests for comment.

The decision to disbar came from the high court last month. In their decision, the justices cited criminal activity dating back to 1984, mostly dealing with sexual misconduct. The South Carolina Bar Association lists him as in not good standing.

In 1997, he was suspended for four months after being arrested for pulling down a woman’s bathing suit while she was sunbathing at Surfside Beach in 1994. Parrott was charged with simple assault and battery and court records say he entered an Alford plea , meaning he pleaded guilty without admitting to the alleged crime.

The Supreme Court decision cites another instance in 1984 where Parrott allegedly pulled another woman’s bathing suit down, but was not charged in this incident.
