New shopping complex could be built near this Myrtle Beach mall. Here’s what we know.

A multi-tenant building could be constructed on a vacant lot near Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach.

Plans submitted to Myrtle Beach by Ayres & Associates Architects, Inc. this week call for the construction of a 9,220 square-foot, five-tenant retail building along Oak Forest Lane near Coastal Grand Mall and adjacent to Costco and Best Buy. The proposal also looks to add landscaping, dumpsters and parking.

Applicant Felix Ayres did not immediately respond for comment.

If approved, the proposed building would be surrounded by several retail establishments and restaurants, including Costco, Total Wine, Logan’s Roadhouse, J&K Home Furnishings, The Home Depot, Michael’s, Home Goods and Best Buy.

The application is scheduled to go before the Community Appearance Board on Thursday. The board will meet via conference call that will be live streamed on Myrtle Beach’s city government Facebook page.
