‘We send our love, support and prayers.’ Condolences pour in for stricken police officer.

Law enforcement agencies from across the Myrtle Beach area, South Carolina and the nation expressed their condolences after an Horry County police officer’s coronavirus-related death.

The department announced on Wednesday that Cpl. Michael Ambrosino died after a month-long battle with COVID-19. He was 57.

Nearly every law enforcement agency in Horry County expressed thoughts on social media after the announcement. Conway Police Chief Dale Long stated, “CPD shares thoughts and prayers for Cpl. Ambrosino’s family and continued support for HCPD in their time of mourning.”

Solicitor for the 15th Judicial District that covers Horry County, Jimmy Richardson, said, “We are deeply saddened to hear of Cpl. Ambrosino’s untimely passing and offer our condolences to his family, friends, and members of the Horry County Police Department and community that he impacted. We send our love, support, and prayers to everyone touched by this loss.”

Police agencies in South Carolina and in other states sent messages as well after learning of Ambrosino’s death.
