One killed after dump truck hits car on Horry County highway, officials say

One person died after a dump truck and a car collided on S.C. 905 Friday morning.

Emergency crews went to Highway 905 near Shaftesbury Lane around 8:15 a.m. for the wreck. A Ford Fusion crossed the center line and hit a dump truck, said Master Trooper Brian Lee, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Ford Fusion was killed in the wreck. The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Jessica Long, 32, of Conway.

The driver of the dump truck was taken to the hospital, Lee said.

Both drivers wore seat belts and the crash remains under investigation.
