Thousands without power in Horry County as Hurricane Isaias passes over the area

Thousands of power outages have been reported in the Myrtle Beach area as Hurricane Isaias moves through the area.

The storm brought rain and strong winds to Horry County on Monday night, knocking out power for some. Here is the latest on power outages:

  • Santee Cooper - There are about 6,092 people without power as of 11:30 p.m. Monday. The hardest-hit areas include the Little River area and near Pawleys Island. The number of people without power dropped to about 1,700 around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
  • Horry Electric - There are about 2,103 people without power as of 11:30 p.m. Monday. The hardest-hit areas include an area north of Homewood.
  • Duke Energy - There are about about 60 people without power as of 10:30 p.m. Monday. The hardest-hit areas include the Green Sea area. The power was restored as of 11:30 p.m.
