One person struck by lightning near Apache Pier in Myrtle Beach area

One person went to the hospital after being hit by lightning near a Myrtle Beach area condo complex.

Around 1:10 p.m., Horry County fire crews responded to 8500 Margate Circle for the incident. There is no update on the severity of that person’s injuries.

The lightning was part of thunderstorms that moved through Horry County on Friday afternoon.

The incident location is near a high-rise condo complex and the Apache Pier.
