One person taken to hospital with serious injuries after roof collapses in Horry County

One person was transported to the hospital after a roof collapsed in the Longs area Tuesday morning, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.

Crews were called to 504 Sandridge Loop just before 11 a.m. after reports of a person trapped inside. The structure was a residence that was being demolished, said said Tony Casey with HCFR.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, Casey said.

The cause of the roof collapsing is unknown at this time.
