‘We are forging on’: Myrtle Beach cafe opens second location on the Grand Strand

Myrtle Beach’s Good Day Cafe is aiming to bring some more goodness to your day with a second location that has opened on the southern end of the Grand Strand in Surfside Beach.

The cafe is famous for its lobster rolls and vegan menu.

The business, which opened Monday in the Surfside Plaza on Business 17, hopes to bring good food and a sense of community at its new location, owner Kevin Andrews said.

“Business has been great,” he said, noting it’s been a bit scary to open during the coronavirus pandemic. “We are forging on and taking the risk and the chance.”

The cafe will operate from noon to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Andrews said he is hiring new staff members, including people with intellectual disabilities.

“If we are going to be part of the community, we have to include everybody. We want to be inclusive, not exclusive,” he said.

Good Day’s menu offers a variety of food, from salads to plant-based burgers to chicken wraps. Its beverage menu include bubble tea, coffee and smoothies. Everything is made fresh and is organic, Andrews said.
