Construction has begun on a Marriott property on Ocean Blvd. See an artist’s rendering

Dargan Construction Co. has recently broken ground on a new Marriott dual-branded Courtyard & Springhill Suites hotel tower located at 2006 North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.

The project is billed as costing more than $50 million.

The 25-story, 201,000-square-foot hotel is being built in a location that previously housed a Breakers Resort tower and registration building that both have been demolished.

The hotel will feature 115 Courtyard brand guest rooms and 115 Springhill Suites guest rooms, along with associated amenities and outdoor water features.

The owner of the project is MB National LLC and the architect is LS3P Associates LTD of Myrtle Beach. A previous rendering of the building by LS3P included an outdoor pool, a lazy river, laundry units on each floor, a top-floor restaurant and bar, including outdoor seating with a glass floor on the ocean side of the building.

The property will be managed by Brittain Resorts & Hotels – as the Breakers Resort is – with an anticipated opening as early as spring 2022.

Dargan Construction Company was founded in Myrtle Beach in 1953 and has built numerous hotels, entertainment venues, churches, and more on the Grand Strand.
