In the first incident, 52-year-old Franklin Morris of Jacksonville, Florida drowned near 16th Avenue North in the ocean. He was pronounced dead at 1:50 p.m. at Grand Strand Medical Hospital, the coroner’s office reports. Myrtle Beach police are investigating the incident.

In the second incident, 71-year-old Allan Eschner of Surfside Beach drowned in the ocean near the Holly Beach Access in the Garden City Beach area. He was pronounced dead at 2:08 p.m. at Waccamaw Medical Park, according to the coroner’s office. Horry County police are investigating the incident.
