One injured after car crashes into trees in Horry County

One person was hurt after a car crashed into trees off Highway 544.

Horry County Fire Rescue crews went to 544 near Highway 814 around 1:40 p.m. for the reported crash. The initial report was that a car collided with trees and there was someone trapped inside the vehicle.

One person was taken to the hospital, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

Another vehicle was hit in the incident, and the driver of that car was not taken to the hospital.

Officials ask people to avoid the area as beach-bound traffic is restricted to one lane. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Horry County police are assisting at the scene.
