Pedestrian struck and killed by ‘unknown’ vehicle in Horry County, troopers say

Troopers are investigating after a 49-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle in the Green Sea area Monday night.

The crash happened about 10 p.m. on Mt. Olive Church Road near S.C. 410 and the vehicle involved did not stop, said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Julian Hamilton, 49, of Loris. He died of multiple traumatic injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and the Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team is working to determine the vehicle involved, Collins said.
