A 74-year-old Longs man died in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Patrick Finnegan.

Finnegan was driving a 2014 Mazda CX5 when he turned left onto S.C. 9 from Pine Needle Drive, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell. There, his car was struck on the driver side by a 2005 Kia Optima at 10:38 a.m.

Finnegan was taken to the Grand Strand Medical Center, where he died at 12:31 p.m. due to trauma from the crash, the coroner’s office stated.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital, but that person’s condition was unknown as of Sunday afternoon.
