Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is among this bar’s bike week lineup. Here’s when you can see them
The coronavirus pandemic put Myrtle Beach Bike Week at a crossroads this spring.
Perhaps it’s only fitting that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be here when the postponed rally takes place next month.
The Cleveland, Ohio-based rap group, known for Grammy Award-winning single “Tha Crossroads” and the its speedy lyrical prowess, will be the final headliner of Murrells Inlet bar Suck Bang Blow’s musical lineup. The group is scheduled to perform at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 18.
SBB owner Will Couch said he was pleased to see Bone Thugs as an option presented by agencies his business works with to bring talent to town.
“We thought it would be something different. It’s just a different act,” he said. “We try to mix up our variety of music and we thought that would be a good addition to the lineup this year.”
Other headliners include the Davisson Brothers Band (9 p.m., July 13), Whitey Morgan (9 p.m., July 16) and Colt Ford (9 p.m., July 17). Couch said he’s still working to add some local musicians to the lineup to complement the headliners.
“This is by far the best lineup we’ve ever had for a rally. We really gave a lot of thought and preparation for it. Once the county approved the new dates, we went full speed ahead,” he said. “It was good for us that a lot of bands have not been working, so I don’t want to say it was easier to book these bands, but they were available and we’re fortunate to have a really great lineup.”
In May, Horry County Council voted 11-1 in favor of sanctioning the week beginning July 13 as Harley week. The rally was originally scheduled for May 8-17 but was originally postponed to be part of the fall rally before the idea of a summer rally came to fruition.
Couch said SBB is planning to have its usual staples, such as the 8 p.m. burnouts each day, live music and a bike show July 17. However, the addition of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony has upped the excitement, Couch said, noting that a Facebook post announcing the group is coming reached nearly 100,000 people.
“We’re gonna get staffed up and ready to go,” Couch said. “I’m really excited for Whitey Morgan and Colt Ford and the Davisson Brothers, but Bone Thugs, the last band of the week, it will be a big one.”
