Victim of Conway area crash identified by Horry County Coroner’s Office

A 32-year-old died after a crash involving a cement truck on Tuesday morning.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as William Dickey, of Myrtle Beach. He died around 8:30 a.m. at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

The crash happened near the intersection of U.S. 378 and Dirty Branch Road around 7:15 a.m., according to Horry County Fire Rescue. The Conway area wreck involved a cement truck colliding with a Ford Fusion.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brian Lee said Dickey was driving the Fusion and tried to pass another car when he hit the truck.

The truck driver was not hurt, Lee said.
